The Good "EX" Husband....

I have taken yesterday and today off from work so I thought I would take the younguns to see that new shark movie. I had my son with me, but had to go pick up my daughter at my ex (F.A.) new apartment. She had been staying with her some this week, since it's fall break at school, helping her Mom move into the new place.

The ex wife never ceases to amaze me. She has been hired as a pharmacy tech making $12.oo an hour with benefits and all the trimmings. She could have started this new job this past Monday, but instead she decides to wait and start on the 25th. If she actually starts this job it will be her first real legal employment in years. We have been divorced for about a year and a half and in that time she worked at a gym for about three weeks and at a restaurant for a day. During this time she has lived off money her Mother has given her, donations from her church, money given by the adoptive parents of her baby, and the alimony we shell out. This is also her third home in the year and a half. She has been kicked out of the two previous places because she doesn't pay rent after the first few months. Now, and check this out, she has somehow got this fancy new apartment and the rent is $815 a month! That is only $70 less than my mortgage and I have a 2800 sq. ft. two story house! How in the hell is she going to pay for this? Susan and I have bets on how long she will keep this pharmacy job. Back around the time my son was born F.A. worked in the pharmacy at the local hospital for about two weeks, until they fired her for stealing Tylenol. I just don't see it lasting, but I do wish it would. Hell, I wish she would get her priorities straight and have a career and do something with herself, like get married. At least that would save us $500 a month in alimony.

So, anyway, I picked up my daughter and the three of us went to see Shark Tales....very cute movie. Will Smith is great! After the movie we call F.A. to tell her we are on our way back to her apt. She says she is getting her nails done so it will be a while before she gets back. Okay, the woman doesn't have money to, oh say pay her bills/buy groceries/gas for her car/help Susan and I out with buying the kids clothes/etc. but she sure as hell can get her nails done every other week? Just no priorities. I hope my kids don't inherit this trait from her.

So while we waited for her to get back from her nail appointment I put the beds together in her new luxury apartment. Ain't I a good ex husband??
